Background

Young people and youth workers (Jagriks) in our ecosystem, have been toiling tirelessly with their COVID-19 related relief and recovery efforts across the country. In the past year, we collectively impacted 50,000+ households, 250,000+ people with relief responses through critical care, medical aid, and food security across various districts in Assam, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, New Delhi, Gujarat, Nagaland, Telangana, and Uttar Pradesh. The collaborations between our members in these locations and partner organizations like Goonj, APPI, and others are what made this possible. Our donors DKA-Austria, AJWS, IIFL, and many individual donors supported us in steering through these uncertain times.

In addition to their efforts to provide immediate relief, our members have also worked towards recovery in their communities in the past year. Through our Jagrik and Jabardast Jagrik initiatives, hundreds of youth leaders have been bringing systemic change and nurturing societal wellbeing by creating lived experiences of constitutional values. As the ongoing pandemic has snowballed into yet another crisis, once again leading the efforts from the front, our members have been deploying measures towards relief and recovery.
