What We do
ComMutiny - The Youth Collective is working towards bringing youth leaders, youth workers, and youth allies to facilitate deep self-exploration journeys for young people and to support their social action experiments.
We work towards aggregating, accelerating and amplifying youth spaces co-led with self-aware, pro-active citizens- we call Jagriks (play on the word Jagruk and Nagariks).
A brief on our strategies
Collectivising youth-centric organisations, practitioners, and youth allies into a collaborative ecosystem for joint action and scaled impact on youth development.
Designing, piloting, and scouling (scaling with soul), youth-centric experiences to address the current psychosocial, economic, and ecological needs of young people by:
1. Building capacities of youth engaging organisations and youth workers
2. Using cutting edge, co-created, youth centric innovations to engage young people
ComMutiny has endeavoured to create an ecosystem known as Jagrik Jahan (Jagrik Universe). This ecosystem encompasses various strategies and initiatives designed to introduce youth to self and social transformation.
Thematic focus
Active Citizenship - Our work focuses on building young people’s understanding of ‘Sansar, Samaj, and Samvidhan’ (World, Community and Constitution). Using social action tasks and projects, young people are equipped with skills that allow them to live their fundamental rights and duties enshrined in the constitution and also develop a shared idea of India.
Gender-We work with young people to change the norms on gender based violence, victim blaming, and normative gender roles. By using the method of dialoguing, we aim to bring positive shifts among the participating young men and boys and their communities.
Climate Change- Our goal is to inspire the youth sector to make climate action one of their top 3 priorities. We do this by
- Designing and disseminating a 'Nourishing Now' approach to climate action among young people, innovators, communities etc.
- Influencing influencers (youth workers and youth allies) within our ecosystem to make climate action one of their key organisational agendas.
- Influencing youth leaders to take up climate action and embed it into the change they wish to see in the world.
Wellbeing- Our interventions enhance individual and collective wellbeing through 'feelings' literacy and intergenerational dialoguing and gaming methodologies. We work on building capacities for preventive wellbeing as well as towards creating wellbeing awareness
Amplifying norm-shifting narratives to build a case for youth-centric development by engaging diverse stakeholders. Narrative building to shift norms on Youth Centric Development across sectors by
1. Creating a case for wider investment by influencing of influencers
2. Visibilising the impact of grassroots youth leadership
