Why Samjho Toh:
A decade ago, young people were lamented for not having a point of view and thereby not engaging in shaping the narratives of the day. Now when, everyone seems to have an opinion, it is creating discomfort at all levels. As we get more and more connected, people are finding their close allies and creating bubbles of resonance that collide harshly with each other in the ocean of notions.

Even as humanity has accepted that dialog and collaboration are imperative for it to survive and thrive, in practice, a contra wave of hate and polarization is inundating the world. But the only people who are immune to being polarized are young people. There is a greater need here to catch them young and prevent them from becoming polarized. Young people with their conflicting viewpoints must have spaces to interact with each other so that they don’t get stuck in their own echo-chambers of single stories. An imaginative world of very diverse viewing points- plutory stories’- where there is a new way of thinking is what the world needs right now. To stay in a no-conflict space or not addressing these conflicts is not an option anymore.

Vision:
Building prosperous, inclusive, peaceful and just communities by creating a culture of dialoguing, collaboration and co-creation among and through young people by bringing their ideas of India together.

Context:
The past few years have seen stereotyping and hate narratives increase, leading to social disruption, economic exclusion and psychological insecurity among people. The need of the hour is a challenge to the status quo that can be facilitated through integration of communities and the creation of a space that will enable deep dialoguing among young people in an effort towards social harmony, psychological wellbeing and economic prosperity.

Spread over eight months, the journey is divided into two phases i.e. 1) Samvidhan Live! Dialogues 2) Fraternity Labs

Phase 1: Samjho Toh The Samvidhan Live! Dialogue
By dialoguing across the fault-lines, young peoplecome face to face with the enriching power of diversity and difference and learn to view theworld from multiple viewing points to collaborate and
