Blue Ribbon Movement

Our SaathNirbhar Story:
When many youngsters were on the verge of emotional breakdown due to lockdown loneliness, Aasana Shah (23), a volunteer with the Blue Ribbon Movement anchored Channel 5; Online Listening Spaces, a community that could help each other emotionally through interdependence. She anchored Channel 5 with the Blue Ribbon Movement and brought together many volunteers and facilitators across Maharashtra, New Delhi, Gujarat to share an online space for emotional comfort. These online spaces carried out throughout 2020 designed a special space for students and professionals and turned out to be a soothing experience for those who sought community support during a crisis. Blue Ribbon Movement is a youth focus organization which aims to engage young people to create awareness, bring them together, form a sense of belonging and oneness. With the majority of its staff being volunteers, BRM stepped up their work during covid by reaching out to young people through fun challenges on social media. Capturing a social media driven generation can be tough but during covid, they used this tool as a weapon to build hope, to build feelings of togetherness and dismantle a sense of isolation among the young people across India! We were inspired by their zeal to keep connecting and keep innovating.
