Access to Education through Advocacy
During a proper research about the status of implementation of one of the provisions of Right to Education Act, i.e., 25% reservation for underprivileged children in private schools, it was observed that less than 2% of seats were filled up due to the existing gaps around the procedures. Hence, Pratigya filed a PIL in Jharkhand High Court regarding its proper implementation which resulted in policy formulation of the same; ordering all schools to ensure the admission, thereby enabling a path to admission of thousands of underprivileged children under this provision every year in the state. Over 3,000 children have been facilitated admission in CBSE Schools under 25% BPL reservation of RTE ACT.
