TYCIA

Our SaathNirbhar Story:
Initially, in the first covid wave, Sanchi and her organization TYCIA Foundation co-created a collective 'India against corona' that initiated an auto ambulance and Shav Vahan, distributed oxygen concentrators, and started a one of its kind service called 'Ghar Ghar doctor' through which NRI doctors consulted people in India over a call. The collective also hired buses and chartered planes to help migrant workers return to their homes. Psychosocial support was also provided through free tele-counseling services. This overwhelmed the team emotionally so much that they felt like giving up at one moment. The first wave drained Sanchi and her team of energy, funds, resources, and hope. Nevertheless, when the second wave hit the country, the need for help increased and this time she realized that she couldn't resolve to give up. In the second wave, they brought together more than 1000 front-line workers in 16+ states to contribute to the relief work. They supported the communities including but not limited to women, children, laborers, Dalits, Adivasis, etc. with vaccine registration, ration kits, and medical supplies. Direct cash transfers were also made to the women and children of the sole breadwinners who died of covid. Many were supported to buy a cart, food stalls, tailoring machines, etc to help them stand on their own feet. Sanchi's kindness and zeal to help make us realize that the world is in safe hands when people like her are there to hold hands when help becomes a luxury.
