Brief Bio:
Tamanna is a counseling psychologist who has completed her first master's in counseling psychology from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. She has received further training through a second master's in mental health from Edinburgh, UK.
An ardent mental health advocate, she specializes in working with adults and uses a systemic approach grounded in the clients' socio-cultural context. As a therapist, she extends positive unconditional regard in therapy, adopts a non-judgmental stance, and aims to provide her clients with a safe and supportive environment to explore their concerns.
Through values of empathy and respect, she is committed to facilitating the journey of empowerment and growth for people experiencing mental health concerns. As a research scholar, she has worked with the Maharashtra State Women’s Commission on a research study about ‘Gender Sensitive Counseling Interventions in Family Courts’. Furthermore, she was awarded the best research project for her work on “War Widows: The Hidden Battles – The Journey of Rebuilding Life’, which she has presented in international conferences.
She believes that every individual should have access to quality mental health services, and aims to bridge this gap between service providers and seekers, by collaboratively catalysing systemic change to enable access to mental health services to all sections of the society.
