Centre for Life Skills Learning

Our SaathNirbhar Story:
The plight of farmers in Palakkad district of Kerala during lockdown motivated Ashoke Nenmara to create a virtual market for farmers. “One of the farmers planned to commit suicide as he was in debt. He borrowed money from the bank to grow his crops and suddenly there was no market,” says Ashoke, who runs the Centre for Life Skills Learning. Ashoke used social media and Whatsapp along with his 40 active volunteers to trade vegetables during the lockdown. They also crowd funded among their executive members to provide free vegetables to the tribals in Wayanad and Palakkad districts. Ashoke along with his team also donated television sets to students in villages.
