ISSUE
In the Jagriks' community, MHM being taboo, girls don’t have the basic information about it and face limited mobility once they attain puberty.
ROADMAP
Create a safe space within the community where girls can access information on MHM and freely discuss their experiences and concerns; Discussions with SMC on how schools can be more inclusive of girls' needs; Advocacy campaign on social media around MHM.
OUTPUTS:
- The girls are more attentive towards their health and are equipped with right practices.
- Girls and young women are able to articulate their needs and can access to alternatives of menstrual products.
- Existing gaps with regard to MHM at the school-level are captured and highlighted for effective redressal

KEY PROGRESS
- Pritam and Asha have a sustained a group of 30 girls from Naugarh block of Chandauli and 5 curriculum based sessions have been facilitated.
- Two highlights of the projects are – establishment of an incinerator in the secondary school through sustained advocacy with the school authorities and developing an indigenous incinerators, which is being used in the household to manage the disposal of sanitary napkins and cloth in schools.
- Girls of her community are developing their own incinerators and simultaneously conducting intergenerational dialogues within families to break taboos around the issue.
