Rajesh N. Singh Meher

Rajesh is co-building and co-nurturing collectives and coalitions of youth focussed and youth engaging institutions in India by bringing youth centric development practices as the driving norm in the sector. His work contributes to creating a pipeline of wholesome youth leaders (aka Jagriks- self awakened, proactive citizens) who are championing and addressing the most pressing needs of our times. He is Chief Operating Officer at ComMutiny- The Youth Collective, Delhi. He has led, designed and executed many successful campaigns at ComMutiny, such as Bas! Stop Discrimination Now, Samvidhan LIVE! Be a Jagrik, Qki Championship and Samjho Toh more recently. 

Prior to ComMutiny, Rajesh worked with Ashoka Innovators for the Public covering Southeast Asia. He expanded the investment portfolio of Social Entrepreneurs in the region. He was the Director- Changelooms at Pravah for 3 years and helped build the portfolio of young social entrepreneurs in India across many disciplines. He co-founded Purple Mangoes in 2011- that developed cutting edge public engagement campaigns. One of the most successful campaigns run by the start-up called ‘Close the Gap’ was with Oxfam India and OurSay Australia that integrated IVRS, on-ground dialogues in public spaces and digital media advocacy. A travelling café called ‘Café Bean Here Bean There’ was his passion project with five other friends that set out to create conversations on myriad of themes while travelling 8 cities in India. 

Rajesh is deeply passionate about exploring the role of young people and youth engagers in creating and shaping a narrative that promotes the practice of youth centric development and culture of love, learning, ownership, freedom, and social hope for everyone. He is most triubled by the hunger index of India and is currently working on a project that seeks to identify ways to address it. He likes to be called a landscape artist who builds nutrition forests wherever he goes. He has an M. Phil. degree in Science and Technology Policy from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi.
