About Nikita Sahu
Nikita Sahu, is a passionate and dedicated young leader from Rajgarh, Madhya Pradesh, who has devoted her efforts to advocating for child rights and promoting constitutional values in rural areas. Coming from a humble background, with her father working as a street fruit vendor and her mother as a homemaker, Nikita understands the challenges faced by marginalised communities and is motivated to make a difference. Over the past 1.5 years, Nikita has volunteered with Ahimsa welfare society, where she has engaged in various initiatives aimed at empowering children, preventing child marriages and rescuing young girls from the same, and advocating for their rights. Her work has included organising awareness campaigns and educational programs that focus on the importance of child rights and the need for social justice. Additionally, she has contributed to short-term projects with other NGOs, such as Shrishti in Delhi, further broadening her impact and experience in the social sector. She has also worked with Aasra Lok Kalyan organisation and Devasth non-governmental organisation towards National Health Mission programmes & Rashtriya Kishor Swasthya Karyakram in Madhya Pradesh. Through her initiatives, she seeks to inspire others to join her in creating a more just and equitable society.
About their project: : 
Sarvodaya project seeks to combat climate change and promote environmental awareness in the Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh. It focuses on raising community awareness about environmental issues through workshops and educational programs, particularly targeting children and youth. Key initiatives include establishing a plant nursery, promoting kitchen gardens for better nutrition, and planting around a thousand trees to enhance biodiversity and air quality. The project encourages community engagement through volunteer activities and aims to create employment opportunities by promoting organic farming and sustainable practices. Overall, it seeks to empower the local community and foster a collective responsibility towards nature.
