Amrita Sunita Anand
"Amrita Sunita Anand leads Growth & Innovation at VPL, network partner of Video Volunteers. Amrita's expertise lies in synthesizing data from government and ground to strategise interventions that lead to ground solutions. She has 17 years of experience and 14+ years in the social impact sector, she has worked with communities to devise solutions for various social issues. In her previous role at Video Volunteers she has trained community correspondents on using media for change, conducting talks & creating community based action plans to end human trafficking at their villages. In the past she has also worked with Swechha - We For Change Foundation, leading their alternative educational program with a marginalized community and devising strategies for advocacy & action for RTE campaign, among other roles.
Amrita is a graduate in History (Hons) from Delhi University, she has also done short courses from BBC (India) on advocacy through media; Centre For Science and Environment on using data for development, an introduction to Climate Change and Graduate Certificate Course in Public Policy with specialization in Advanced Public Policy from Takshashila. She has also co-organized the World Mouth Harp Festival of India from 2014-2018 to promote the ancient instrument Morchang. She is a morchang player and a poet herself. Has now initiated community building of Mouth Harpists in India. "
