He is working with Jan Sahas for the last 5 years, his work focuses on ending sexual violence against women and children. Currently, he is leading a team of over 200 members to end sexual violence against women and children with a multi-prolonged approach such as Prevention, Response, Rehabilitation and Systemreform. He has played a crucial role in designing, planning and implementation of national campaign called ‘Dignity March’, a campaign to end sexual violence against women and children. Amu has completed M.A. in Social work from Tata Institute of Social Sciences.
Ashif Shaikh (born 18 October 1982) is a social entrepreneur and activist from India and founder director of the community and survivor focused non-profit organisation Jan Sahas. He is also the founder and current national convener of Rashtriya Garima Abhiyan (National Campaign for Dignity) for eradication of the practice of manual scavenging.
