About Uday Mishra
Pursuing his master’s in social work from University of Lucknow and working with an organization called Climate Agenda, Uday has always been an enthusiastic participant in the climate action space. He has been a part of ‘signing an oath’ campaign where 5,000 people had signed an oath to work to stop climate change and wants to work at a policy level to get to the goal of zero emissions. As a GreEntreprenuer, he worked with 40 adolescents in two cohorts in Bharosa and Shukalapur Hardoi, where as a part of a six-month project, the participants were trained in setting up kitchen gardens. Uday took regular sessions, with classroom and field exposure with an aim to shift the norm in favour of kitchen gardens at a household level. While the start was challenging, the enthusiasm of the children once the project took off, their hunger for knowledge and their sheer energy were great motivators for Uday. The project not only successfully managed to set up gardens, Uday saw a marked difference in the students with regards to climate change and witnessed their growing dedication to the cause. Uday is keen on establishing community-driven projects such as urban gardens, recycling programs, and clean energy initiatives and aspires to engage in policy advocacy, collaborating with policymakers and local authorities to influence decisions that promote sustainable development.
