About Pawan
Currently pursuing his master’s in sociology from University of Lucknow, Pawan has always been passionate about the climate crises and was a part of the Clean Air Fellowship, under which he reached out to more than 2,500 people and trained them in vermicompost preparation. As a GreEntrepreneur, his project focussed on food security and trained 80 students of two government schools on setting up nutrition gardens. Through weekly sessions, students learnt about how to set up these gardens in their homes, how to maintain them and what their advantages are. They were also empowered with the knowledge and intricacies of climate change to raise awareness within their homes and communities. Pawan was happy to report that most families in these villages have set up such gardens and are actively using it, with the children playing a big role in turning their parents and community members on to the cause. Pawan continues to stay in touch with these students and keeps passing on his knowledge of all the dimensions of the climate crises and how change can be affected, and is currently collaborating with the Volship programme to raise awareness on micro-plastics and how it harms daily lives.
