Nilakshi Rajkhowa

Nilakshi Rajkhowa is currently serving as the Director of the Office of Public Affairs of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of India. She has also served as the Director, Advancement of Women and Youth Affairs of the Office of Public Affairs from 2010-2014.
She is a Trustee of India Alliance for Child Rights (IACR), an alliance of NGOs, think tanks,
activists, academia and concerned individuals working for the realization of rights of children.
She was a member of a coalition group to end child marriage in India which was established to support the conference on child marriage initiated by National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in collaboration with South Asia Initiative on Ending Violence against Children (SAIEVAC) in 2018.
She also serves on the Advisory Board of India Peace Centre, an Inter-religious Centre for justice and peace initiatives established in 1988 by the National Council of Churches in India, Gandhi Peace Foundation, Catholic Bishops Conference of India, National Council of YMCAs of India and YWCA of India.
Ms. Rajkhowa has been working in promoting the equality of women and men and the role of religion in contributing to peace, communal harmony, and the well-being of humanity for more than two decades.
She has extensive experience in the field of grassroots capacity building and development. She has worked extensively with people of all age groups, especially children and youth. She has participated as a resource person in a number of seminars and conferences organized by the government institutions and civil society organizations on topics such as communal harmony, national integration, equality of women and men, well-being of children, empowerment of youth and the role of religion in society.
