Nandita Shah
Dr. Nandita Shah, a distinguished feminist activist and researcher, serves as the co-director of Akshara Centre, a Mumbai-based nonprofit organisation dedicated to women's rights. With a focus on empowering women to articulate, demand, and access their rights, Akshara Centre under Dr. Shah's leadership emphasises women's leadership and addresses issues of gender and social justice. Drawing from over 30 years of experience in strengthening women's movements locally, nationally, and internationally, Dr. Shah has made significant contributions through her activism and scholarly writings. Dr. Nandita Shah holds a Ph.D. in Social Science from the University of Amsterdam, with a postgraduate academic background in Women's Studies and Social Work.
