Founder of volunteer-based non-profit ‘Pahchan Foundation’, Siraj leads a group of young volunteers in cleaning the Ganga River near Titagarh and has been appointed IN India YuWaah Advocate for climate change of the very first cohort of UN India of six young people. As a GreEntrepreneur, He had onboarded 120 primary school students from three schools to set up nutrition gardens inside school premises. With sessions that involved in-class and outdoor activities, training them on how to set up these gardens, maintain them and have conversations about climate change. The project showed that the children were interested and were interactive and enthusiastic about the activities and have also formed an eco club in their schools to further carry out the learnings of the programme. Pahchan has also started tutoring services in the community earning goodwill among the parents, and hosts screenings on movies related to climate change every Sunday in the community. He also plans to collaborate with local organizations to expand his network and onboard more stakeholders.
