Dhuwarakha Sriram
Ms. Dhuwarakha Sriram, an esteemed international development expert, boasts nearly 17 years of strategic planning and programming experience with UNICEF and UNHCR. Her expertise spans various domains, including adolescent/youth empowerment, skills/employment, gender, and child protection.
Currently serving as the Child Protection/Adolescent Specialist at UNICEF India Country office, Ms. Sriram plays a pivotal role in planning and coordinating the implementation of major adolescent empowerment and ending child marriage programs. Her previous assignments in regions like West and Central Africa, Sierra Leone, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka involved managing programs addressing child protection and adolescents, including support during the Ebola response and complex emergency settings such as the Tsunami response in 2004-05.
Ms. Sriram's academic background includes a Masters in Social Work and a Masters in Law specialising in Child Rights Law from the University of London, along with a Bachelors in Business Administration from Curtin University of Technology, Australia. Additionally, her contributions to research articles and studies in adolescent empowerment and child protection underscore her commitment to advancing social welfare and rights-based approaches globally.
