About Ankush
Ankush, is a passionate young leader dedicated to social change and community development in New Delhi. His journey began in 10th grade when he initiated a clothing drive to support a Pakistani refugee community, which opened his eyes to the challenges faced by underprivileged children in his vicinity. This experience ignited his desire to make a tangible impact in the lives of those around him. Ankush's involvement with Pravah, an organisation focused on youth engagement and social action for Clean Air Fellowship, further fueled his commitment to community service. He transitioned from a simple clothing drive to actively engaging with children in the Adivasi Nehru Nagar slum, where he has been working on comprehensive development initiatives through arts-based education and creative waste reuse. As the founder & director of COHAS (Community of Hope and Support), Ankush aims to address the educational and developmental needs of children and adolescents in marginalised communities. His innovative approach combines art and culture with education, fostering creativity and critical thinking among the youth.
About their project: :
Kal Parvarish, is an initiative aimed at empowering the youth of Delhi, particularly those aged 18-27, by raising awareness about environmental issues and providing them with accessible platforms for engagement and contribution. It sensitises youth to urgent environmental issues and equips them with skills for active conservation through structured training programs. Recognizing a gap in engagement opportunities, Kal-Parvarish provides a platform for hands-on involvement in activities like bird watching, nature walks, and urban greening through vertical and rooftop gardens, promoting biodiversity and sustainability. Additionally, the project empowers participants economically by offering pathways for supplementary income through eco-friendly micro-enterprises, addressing youth unemployment. At its core, the project instils values of equality, fraternity, love, and freedom, nurturing environmentally conscious leaders committed to community well-being.
