SATHEE works in 87 villages spread over 7 blocks in 5 districts of Jharkhand – Godda, Sahebganj, Pakur, Dumka and Deoghar. The main inhabitants are the Paharias, Santhal, Kol tribes and members from the schedule castes. SATHEE intervenes to ensure sustainable and dynamic development of vulnerable sectors of the community by ensuring their rights. SATHEE in the course of its interventions works towards addressing child rights issues and has been able to touch the lives of all children and communities living within the project area. Overall awareness of the Paharia tribal communities has improved significantly on various issues and adverse effects of child labour, child marriages for which children’s collectives and community groups have been formed and are jointly working towards curbing child trafficking.
