ABOUT

A non-profit making grass root level Non-Government Organization, registered under Societies Registration Act XXI-1860 and under FCRA, 1976.  It has been committed and dedicated for rural development since existence in 1986. It is persistent and versatile in the field of rural development with basic thrust and concentration upon over all socio-economic development, women empowerment, awareness generation, concern of child and maternal health, sanitation, skill and entrepreneurship development, promotion and marketing of village products etc. towards supporting better livelihood and development of  poor and marginalized people. Discipline and sincerity in thought and activities are the forte of AGUP.

RECOGNITION

National Award-2008 and  National Award-2016 from the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME), Government of India, and Chief Minister’s Best Community Action Award-2013.

• SFURTI on Cane and Bamboo Craft under the Ministry of MSME. 
• Khadi production and Marketing for welfare and assistance to weavers and small industry artisans
• Skill development activities are common
• Collaboration of CHILDLINE Barpeta under the ministry of WCD since 2015.
• As IAG Member Organization, disaster response is a key activity. it has been relieving flood affected people in collaboration with government and other National and International organizations.
