Human progress is no more a given. Even as the world warms, a freeze seems to be setting in in the river of human potential. Inequality, Conflict and Ecological brinkmanship are being described as the harbingers of this new ICE age. Especially because of their origins in the polarity of self-interest versus common good, these global issues that viscerally affect local communities, seem irreconcilable.
