Youth Alliance is a group of committed citizens whose dream is of a nation whose youth feel equipped with skills to solve problems of their communities. A nation where taking initiative is the norm rather than an exception. Despite 3.5 million youngsters graduating in India every year, few have the privilege to explore and develop skills for alternative career paths especially in the social development sector in their college years. Social entrepreneurship, despite the dire need, is a rare phenomenon. Youth Alliance was supported by Changelooms in its start up phase.  Youth Alliance intends to make the right exposure available to young people at the right time so that enterprising youth can take an informed decision. Its vision is   facilitating youth passionate for social change across India, translate intention into action and find their best fit through an all-round exposure. The mission of Youth Alliance is to build a movement of young leaders equipped to meet India’s problems by designing processes to identify and nurture young individuals with a spark to think innovatively for the larger social good. Its aim is to nurture ethical leadership and social role models who can take the narrative of the country in a positive direction.  Its main programs are:

  • Gramya Manthan – is a nine day rural immersion journey with 40 passionate changeagents to remote villages in Kanpur Dehat, Uttar Pradesh, India.  It is an annual program of Youth Alliance, currently in its fourth year of running.
  • Onus – an exploration-cum-leadership program of the youth, by the youth and for the youth. It is a one year long transformational journey designed for the college students

Prakhar Bharatiya (Changeloomer, 2012-13) founded Youth Alliance a social enterprise working on higher education reform.
