Dream: A Poem

by Meeta Sunny

You farmer sitting on my dream land of a world city
You capitalist sitting on my dream of a workers utopia
You free woman sitting on my dream of a big joint family
You patriarch sitting on my dream of endless love
You lazy child sitting on my dream of a successful future
You tribal sitting on my ore
You pedestrian walking on my road, give space to my automobile ,
Get out of my dream
Let me fly.
What happens when dreams collide?
Is there a common dream?
Is it possible ever?
Only if our dreams occupy only our bodies?
Leaving earth alone
Mystics all?
My dream dies with me, yours with you
Every new being bringing their own dream.
Or
Can dreams live together?
Each one can have land equally divided,
Equal forests, equal desert, equal mountains, equal rivers
But each ones capacity to dream is different
One dream can consume a million hearts
Fascism of a dream ,you can say!
Can billions of dreams occupy one heart?
Everyones dreams in everyones heart,
Bit by bit, one by one
We can see what can be done
What needs to be undone.
The only true religion is the act of sharing dreams,
The act of listening.
The only work is creating worlds of beauty
From the communion of dreams.
For an instant, a few passing moments,
Then its time for some other dreamers ,
And for you to move on to some other dream.
